The Flavor of Business Process Improvement: Sweet, Savory and Savvy

BusinessForward’s Third Annual Customer Appreciation Event

While the temperatures in November vacillate from icy to balmy, the atmosphere inside Six Penn last Thursday was just right. On November 20th, our customers, their guests and the BusinessForward team shared conversation, great wine and fine food. A guest favorite was the autumn pizza, featuring a marriage of shaved Brussel sprouts, spicy house-made sausage and ricotta salata.  Applying his discerning hand, our host and founder John Huckle chose wines that paired beautifully. The crowd was just as complementary, with professionals from diverse industries mixing together through shared interests and challenges.

Guests were invited from GNC, Achieva, Sheetz, PNC Financial Services Group, Production Masters Inc., Campos Inc., Advizex, BPU Investments, Aesynt_Product Management, Carnegie Mellon University, Novum PRS, Vistage, Eat n’ Park, EQT Corporation, EDMC, Forever.com, Giant Eagle, Hefron-Tillotson, Highmark, M&T Bank, Michele Reuss Consulting, Naturi, PSP Metrics, Regan Management Consulting, Robert Morris University, Savvior, Schneider Downs, Service Link, Summa Technologies, TiEr1 Performance Solutions, True Fit, Vistage and Wilke Associates. It was a true pleasure spending time with attendees. People from seemingly disparate business worlds relaxed as they chatted and realized that they are not alone in their problems.

We see it every day on projects, where we are the common link between people speaking different business languages, finding solutions together. Like some of our team members, our business process improvement vocabulary is “multi-lingual.”  It’s always nice when customers can share this experience with a BusinessForward connector.

And not all talk was about business. Human resource leaders and IT professionals swapped interesting personal details like working at Disney or collecting wine. Customers from the retail sector mingled with those in financial services, some realizing they grew up in the same town or read the same books. From our perspective, we had several new team members who met each other for the first time and found that they clicked right away.  We now have close to ten different ways to commute to the BusinessForward office after sharing shortcuts from all points of the compass.

In terms of feedback, we couldn’t be more pleased that so many of our guests told us that a primary reason they love working with us is that we embed ourselves in their cultures. It became clear that we are delivering on our promise to improve the lives of people by providing a fresh perspective with our business, technical and consulting experience. For those of you who couldn’t make it, drop us a line and we’ll get together. To our guests, we will see you again next year along with some new faces.
