Situation

M&T Bank, one of the top 20 commercial bank holding companies in the U.S. with over $123 billion in assets, was experiencing significant capacity constraints stemming from a Windows OS Upgrade, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Initiative, and two major Acquisitions. In anticipation of packaging, testing and deploying 600+ new applications, the Technology Infrastructure Group identified revamping the application packaging processes as their highest priority.

Solution

Within 8 weeks, the BusinessForward team and our technology partners at Rolta AdvizeX designed an improved process for packaging applications

• Created training guides and a SharePoint Site to track packaging requests and status reports
• Designed a 1-year and 3-year roadmap for implementation
• Established an End-to-End Software Lifecycle Management process in a central tool

The Technology Infrastructure Group has the right tools and processes in place to provide a deluxe level of service for packaging high-priority applications and an express method for deploying upgrades, without sacrificing quality.
